Retainer
You must require a retainer to hold the date and time for a couple and also it must be non-refundable. When I receive a retainer using venmo or cashapp, I print out the email I receive from venmo and cashapp and attach it to the request form. I apply the retainer to the balance due.
People will disappear and your time is money. No one gets on your schedule without paying the retainer. The only exception would be if you are doing same day ceremonies. I have had couples call me and be at my house in 15-30 minutes.
I have had couples pay the retainer and disappear so I still got paid for the time involved in setting up the appointment. Also, I have had couples pay the retainer and then give me the full amount I was charging for the ceremony.
Collecting a retainer will help you keep thriving even when you have cancellations, which will happen.
